William Pelham Barr served as the 85th and 87th Attorney General of the United States, under Presidents George H.W. Bush and Donald Trump. He has held high-level positions in the Department of Justice, including Deputy Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General. Barr is known for his work on national security, criminal justice reform, and constitutional law. He has also worked in the private sector, notably as General Counsel and later Executive Vice President and General Counsel at GTE Corporation and as Chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications. Barr is the author of several books on law and governance.
