Sergiu Pașca is a Romanian-born physician-scientist renowned for his groundbreaking work in neuroscience and psychiatry. He earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and completed his postdoctoral training at Stanford University. He is currently a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford and directs the Stanford Brain Organogenesis Program. His research focuses on developing and studying brain organoids—miniature, lab-grown models of the human brain—to investigate the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and schizophrenia.
